A glorious celebration of our elders.
These psychedelic, human-sized termite mounds are a celebration of our elders.
Far from a bleak interpretation of what it means to be ‘old’, this artwork is a joyful celebration of the elderly as mythical beings, and magical treasure troves of colourful stories and countless birthdays.
Taking ‘Home’ into the context of the natural world, these alien totems remind us of standing stones or mystical fungi, alive and hinting at other worlds. Is it the end of the party – or is it just the beginning?
‘Home’ has toured arts festivals, care homes and groups for the elderly, offering engaging memory stimulation and emotional expression, especially those suffering with dementia or the visually impaired.
